8. Pycnometer
A specialized glass flask used to accurately measure the density of liquids or the volume/density of solids by using a known volume of a liquid or gas.
8.1. Procedure
- Measure the volume using liquid with known density (often water).
- Measure the weight of the unknown liquid in order to calculate the density.
9. Liebig Condenser
- Straight Condenser
A condenser consisting of a straight glass tube surrounded by a water jacket.
Also used for reflux.
