Daniel Rigney classified anti-intellectualism into four (originally three, but he amended himself):
- Anti-Rationalism:
- "Reason is cold, emotion is warm"
- The reason is the threat to the absolute morality.
- Unreflective Instrumentalism:
- "Only matters if it makes money"
- Only seeking utility or practicality in the reason.
- Anti-Elitism
- Disconnection to the intellects on the emotional level.
- Unreflected Hedonism
- A flight from the hard and often painful work of reflective thorught.

3. Uncriticized Ideas
Distorted ideas backfires.
Take a note that the idea does not assume evil of other people. For example, 'Islam is a peaceful religion and will not ever elude people killing others' is also a distorted idea, considering the current status.
